Petal is an app that supports users to prioritize life balance through task management and education.
Our team knew we wanted a calendar-based app that also focused on mental health, evidence-based research, and user customization.
The Problem
People struggle to manage their time and complete tasks due to stress, distractions and overwhelm. They need support building health daily habits, organizing their daily tasks, and seeing their tasks to completion.

How might we create a platform with motivational and educational tools to increase efficiency in daily tasks, stay organized, help manage the impact of stressors and build skills with notifications that a user responds to without being overwhelmed.
The Solution
Petal gives users a place to organize, set goals & reminders, and learn habits to stay on track in all aspects of their lives.

High Level Insights
Interviewees were motivated to be organized and complete tasks, but were often overwhelmed and struggled to maintain a consistent routine.
Many interviewees attributed their executive dysfunction to stress, neurodivergence, and the overwhelm of caring for dependents.
Organization is a struggle for many people, for many different reasons. Respondents are motivated to be organized and have tried many tools that never “stuck”.
Building habits is important and key to following through with tasks.
